Sikar District is a district of Rajasthan state located in western India, the town of Sikar is the district headquarter with a 8 sub divisions namely- Sikar, Fatehpur, Laxmangrah, Dantaramgarh, Sri Madhopur, Neem Ka Thana, Khandela and Dhod. Shekhawati is a local dialect spoken widely in the district. The district has hot summers, scanty rainfall and a chilly winter season along with a general dryness in the air, except in short monsoon. The maximum temperatures are 47 to 48 degrees, while minimum temperature ranges between 1 and 0 degrees. This district is popular as a pilgrimage place of Khatushyam, an Avtar of Lord Krishna. Every month before the full moon on Ekadasi-Dwadasi tithis fairs are organized. The other place of interest in tha includes Rajkumar Hardyal Singh Government Museum, Jeenmata, Harshnath and Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Hasampur and Dhandhela. Sikar district has become a hub for education in the state, along with government colleges providing arts, science, and commerce education, private educational institutes also plays an important role. There is one Government Polytechnic College in Sikar and number of private coaching institutes imparting education on engineering and medical entrance exams.

Jeen Mata is 30 Km. away from Sikar.There is an ancient Temple dedicated to Jeen Mata.
Besides being a perfect picnic spot, Sakambhari is dedicated to Sankari Mata.
Khatushyamji is located 65 Km. away from Sikar and 80 Km. from Jaipur via Reengus.
